Description:
Powerful. Mysterious. Eternal.
This candle is a tribute to the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans herself—Marie Laveau. Known for her spiritual power, healing hands, and commanding presence in 19th-century Louisiana, Marie was a Creole woman who walked the line between reverence and fear. A skilled herbalist, midwife, and spiritual guide, she was as much a community leader as she was a legend. +
While she’s often remembered for her ties to Voodoo, what many don’t realize is that Marie was also a devout Catholic. She attended Mass regularly at St. Louis Cathedral and blended her deep faith with African spiritual practices—a sacred balance of rosary and ritual, incense and intention.
The scent reminds me of stepping into an old New Orleans shop tucked away in the Quarter—thick with incense, rose water, and something you can’t quite name. Sacred nag champa curls through the air like a whispered prayer, grounded by sensual rose and the deep, smoky warmth of oud. Resinous woods and musky undertones pull you deeper into the spell, like the scent of a room where rituals have been whispered for generations.
Hand-poured in small batches with coconut soy wax and a crackling wooden wick, this candle is meant to stir memory, honor the spirits, and cast a little mystery wherever it burns.
